FOX 13 NEWS, SALT LAKE CITY – An exhibit honoring the work of Maurice Sendak is touring the nation, and the collection of the works from the author of “Where the Wild Things Are” is on display in Salt Lake City.

The exhibit, “Maurice Sendak: 50 years, 50 Works, 50 Reasons” celebrates the 50th anniversary of the popular picture book.

The Salt Lake City library is hosting the exhibit this month, and it is free and open to the public.

Librarian Paul Musser spoke about the unique opportunities the exhibit offers.

“It’s really cool to see some of these pieces up close and see Maurice Sendak’s marks and the notes he made to himself—it’s neat,” he said.

The exhibit began earlier this week and runs through March 8. There are also several “Marucie Sendak Storytime Celebrations” scheduled at various library branches in the valley.
